Kart racing

Kart racing is a fast-paced, exciting motor sport that enjoys fans all over the world. It is an American-born sport that has over 50 years of history and continues to expand each year. For drivers, it is often considered a stepping stone into the larger racing world.

The vehicles used in today’s kart racing are not your daddy’s go-karts. It is not uncommon for some karts to reach speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour. Many of these can accelerate from 0-60 in less than four seconds.

There are three basic types of kart racing; sprint, endurance, and speedway. Sprint tracks are designed to resemble a typical road course, with both right and left hand turns; while speedway tracks resemble a shorter version of an average oval track. Endurance races can be run on either type of track, but with these races strategy is more important than pure speed.
